Inter Milan are reportedly contemplating a summer move for AS Roma wingback Leonardo Spinazzola.

The 30-year-old joined the Giallorossi in the summer of 2019 in a swap deal that saw Luca Pellegrini head to Juventus.

Afterwards, the Italian cemented himself as a key figure for both club and country. He became a fan favorite among the Azzurri supporters during the Euro 2020 thanks to his energetic displays before sustaining an injury against Belgium in the quarter-finals.

However, Spinazzola’s contract with the capital side will expire at the end of the season and he’s unlikely to renew it.

According to FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri are considering a move for the wingback who can play on both flanks.

As the source explains, Simone Inzaghi could need a new wideman come the summer despite the arrival of Tajon Buchanan earlier today.

Juan Cuadrado’s contract will expire at the end of the season, while the management would prefer to sell Denzel Dumfries if he doesn’t renew his contract.

In such a case, the Nerazzurri could resort to a low-cost free agent like Spinazzola who can add some depth to the squad.

Inter Milan Considering Summer Move For AS Roma Wingback Leonardo Spinazzola

The source adds that the former Juventus man would prefer to stay on Italian soil. His agent Davide Lippi will reportedly hold talks with both Inter Milan and AC Milan in the coming days.

The report also recalls how Spinazzola was on the brink of signing for the Nerazzurri in a swap deal with Matteo Politano back in January 2020.

However, the deal faltered due to Roma’s excessive valuation of their wingback.

This season, the Euro 2020 winner has made 16 appearances for Roma across all competitions, contributing with a single goal and three assists.
