25 of Drake's best collaborations

Since 2009, when Drake released his breakout mixtape So Far Gone, he's become one of the most popular and in-demand artists in hip-hop. Not only does Drake keep audiences talking whenever he drops a new album, but fans also check out any artist he mentions in a song or social post. They look forward to Drake collaborating with other artists. 

Whether he recruits other artists to join him on his songs or gets called to be a featured guest on someone else's track, the Drake effect is real and helps move songs to the top of the charts. In no particular order, here's a list of some of Drake's best collaborations and guest verses so far.

Big Sean and Drake express the lessons they’ve learned and the importance of having gratitude on the 2015 single “Blessings.” As Drake says in his verse, “I cannot see Heaven being much better than this, yeah / Blessings on blessings for me and my n's from the 6 / Look at what we did, yeah.”

Drake and J. Cole both came up in the music industry around the same time, so, surprisingly, they haven’t released more collaborations. Their second collaboration, “Jodeci Freestyle,” wasn’t an official single but rather a track that stayed on SoundCloud for years until Drake added it to his compilation album Care Package. On the track, both rappers boast about their careers and lifestyles.

Even if one doesn’t own a luxurious Aston Martin, it is still a perfect song to drive to.

Minaj’s debut album, Pink Friday, garnered eight singles, including the Drake-assisted track “Moment 4 Life.” In the song, Drake and Minaj highlight how they want to be more present and celebratory in their life’s moments.

In 2012, Kendrick Lamar released his breakout album, good kid, m.A.A.d city. He teamed up with Drake on the album’s last single, “Poetic Justice,” which perfectly sampled Janet Jackson’s 1994 single “Any Time, Any Place.” In Drake’s verse, he highlights how a woman should recognize how good he could treat her, but she unfortunately isn’t learning that.

French Montana released an ultimate twerk anthem when he teamed up with Drake, Lil Wayne, and Rick Ross on his 2012 single “Pop That.” It helped that the producer Lee on the Beats used the hook to sample Uncle Luke’s song “I Wanna Rock.” In Drake’s verse, he has no problem boasting about his career successes and simply having a good time.

He teamed up with Future and Young Thug on his 2021 single “Way 2 Sexy.” Sampling Right Said Fred’s 1991 track “I’m Too Sexy,” the rappers detail how they're too sexy for any nonsense and drama from their past.

In 2012, 2 Chainz teamed up with Drake and producer Mike Will-Made It on his hit single “No Lie.” On the track, Chainz and Drake detail everything from dealing with women and competitors in the rap game. "No Lie" became a top-40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

Future and Drake have collaborated numerous times throughout their careers, one of their early partnerships came in 2015 with the release of their mixtape, What a Time to Be Alive. The tape was entirely produced by Metro Boomin, and one of its most successful singles is “Jumpman.” Named after the Michael Jordan logo, they use the song to highlight metaphors about their lifestyles while mentioning how they’re plotting on the hip-hop game.

As he sings on the hook, “Come with me, leave all of your things, yeah / We can stop at Gucci, stop at Louis V, yeah / Come with me, fly you out to Greece / Full speed, survoler Paris.”

One of the cool things about the track is how the song switches beats, melodies, and samples as the rappers detail their different lifestyles.

While Ross and Wale take the verses, Drake is heard on the hook as he sings about make-up sex.

Sometimes, people will try to ride the success of other people, and Drake doesn’t want that to happen on his 2019 track “Money In The Grave.” Drake is well aware of the money he makes but wants to have money in the afterlife. As he says in the first verse, “In the next life, I’m trying to stay paid / When I die, put my money in the grave.”
