NCAAF Week 6: Kentucky Wildcats vs. Georgia Bulldogs betting picks, preview

The defending champion Georgia Bulldogs have not looked great this season. They are still undefeated though and have the longest home winning streak in the nation at 22 games.

In comes the also undefeated Kentucky Wildcats, off a confidence-building easy win over the Florida Gators.  It has been a long time since the Wildcats beat the Dawgs, but the champs definitely look vulnerable.

Kentucky Wildcats vs. Georgia Bulldogs Betting Trends and Odds

Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023 — 7 p.m. ET

Odds: Georgia -14.5, Over/under 47.5Kentucky +425 | Georgia -575

Georgia is probably the most talented team in the country but they have yet to really play like it, except for TE Brock Bowers. They do look ripe for an upset but that is a tall order for sure. This line is asking you to ignore that nasty little hook if you want to be on the UGA side. As Kentucky has been climbing in the SEC under Mark Stoops they have not beaten the Dawgs, but they have covered the last four seasons. You can bet the public is aware of that.

Pick for Kentucky vs. Georgia

Kentucky +14.5

This feels like a very square play to back the visitors. If you have been following along, Kentucky is a team I have liked all season and this year they probably match up better with Georgia than ever. Kentucky is much more experienced at quarterback this season so they should be able to avoid mistakes and they are strong running the ball with RB Ray Davis. That gives them an opportunity to shorten the game and it is reasonable to expect success because the Georgia defense is not what it has been the last two seasons. Kentucky is strong enough in the trenches on both sides of the ball to not get beaten up and their coach is an advantage too, he prepares them so well. I want to suggest an upset but those points give us a lot of cushion in what will be a physical contest. That is enough for me.

I would be surprised if this number drops any further than 14 points, if that. It is later in the day so the Bulldogs will be in a lot of ML parlays but that should not move it much, if anything.
